No not the State, the playwright, or the country western singer... but Tennessee Thomas, the cutest drummer in the whole wide world. Besides being beautiful and uberstylish she is a genius of epic proportions for naming LEGACY as one of her favorites shops in NYC.

Props to her and her girl group the Like of LA for having the utmost style and sound. Giver her a listen, you won't be sorry. Sagittarians RULE.

MERCY TRUNK SHOW at Legacy

Wow!

Jennifer and Richard bka MERCY went all out for the trunk show.

Thanks to everyone who came and indulged. For those of you not able to

make it you missed a great event. However, all is not lost. I have begged

them to leave some of the best sellers with me for a little while longer.

I gotta crow....I'm not into self promotion but we're kvelling this week. Despite Mercury in retrograde check out who was sporting a LEGACY DRESS while serenading Ellen Degeneris.

Everybody's favorite actress....JENNIFER ANISTON.....OMG! And she looked positively stunning the color and style was so flattering on her. Not that she wouldn't look good in a paper bag but she really made me proud. Thanks to Angela Levin for making this happen.

Fashion's Night Out

Calling all dedicated followers of Fashion......mark your calendars....a worldwide fashion happening will take place on September 10th.

This MUST DO event is going to be a celebration of fashion, during NY's fashion week. LEGACY will be selling the commemorative t shirts starting in late August. These t's are bound to become an instant collectible. You will be supporting a worthy cause while looking good because a portion of the proceeds go the September 11th Fund. It doesn't get much better than this, look good, shop, donate and be merry.

This is the night to shop till you drop because we will be opened till midnight offering up Fall's best +goodies, gifts and many surprises.

I came across this recession mural in the Marais. Which protests the recession French style...tres chic!

When the recession reared its ugly head I wanted to share my thoughts and not having a blog till now I posted my rants in my shop window. I will continue to do this. I like to see people stop and read my thoughts. I enjoy the sense of community as passersby give me the high sign. This is empowerment olde school. People stop and read what I have to say. Others come in and share their thoughts. Some even shop!

Club Monaco, French Connection (ditto, ditto, ditto ad nauseum).

What would NYC be without independent shops??

Anywhere USA!

REPETTOS

We love Repettos! The BBs are the best most comfortable ballet flats ever made. Once you wear them you become an addict. I've had women email me and tell me I was right (I love hearing that) and they need another pair, what colors do I have? When I explain this to a neophyte they don't believe me. There's always some eye rolling and they think I'm making this up in order to push them into a sale. They hem, they haw and always remark that they could get ballet flats for a fraction...They ask why are they so expensive? So many questions.

Well they're really not so costly! These are French made shoes that are hand turned,

made out of the butteriest leathers that fit like gloves and have the coolest provenance.

The shoes were named for Brigette Bardot hence the BB!

Audrey Hepburn sported these flats in Funny Face!

Walking in the same shoes that these style icons wore feels good. In fact you don't walk its more like you float. Furthermore, there is no break in time! No pain, no bandaids, no blisters! This company has been making the same fabulous shoes the same way for over 60 years and they've got it down.

The ZZ or Jazz is another iconic shoe that was worn by Monsieur Serge Gainsbourg. He owned 40+ pairs and wore only these shoes! Mon Dieu! it doesn't get cooler than that.

There are other styles but these 2 are the most popular by far.

BTW, I have started ordering and wearing heels from this company and while I am not a heels girl, I can wear them!!! They are not crazy high unwearable go straight to the orthopedist heels, they're comfy for heels.

I always carry a pair of Repetto flats with me when I'm running around in other shoes. They pack well, are light weight so it's no biggie to tote them around. Furthermore should you have to change out of your heels you can look put together without compromising or committing a fashion faux pas.... as these go with everything.

A shoe that does all that at $195 is a friggin' bargain. So don't let me hear that these are so costly cause I'm not buying it! What I will be buying is a new pair of Repettos for the Fall.
